They have real builds that do more than just damage. What makes for difficulty increases is novel enemy builds, etc. The HP increase would make any mobs with sustain mandate shutdown, so Mesmers would be even more dominant, but it would be more of a slow slog than anything actually difficult. At that level of damage % the only viable strategy is to either have a dedicated tank or have spells that reduce dmg to a % of HP per hit. And if you nerfed ST, people would just use E/Mo to maintain prot spells that do the same thing on everyone. With a ST rit you would take the same damage in your hypothetical mode. Just longer due to the % health increase.īecause ST rits are so ubiquitous, damage % from monsters doesn't matter at all. Honestly, your change would not make it much harder. Would give people an actual incentive to VQ, and those that enjoy exploring and VQing already, this would create a lot of new, exciting, and challenging, repeatable content.
